This course targets the issue of the grounding of phonology in phonetics. Either of two options was leading in the history of linguistics – articulatory or acoustic grounding of phonological units (an thus phonological effects). The course will focus on the role of perception (indirectly, acoustics) in phonology. The course is at introductory level.
